Man who duped AMU medical aspirants held

A fraudster, who duped the Aligarh Muslim University‘s medical exams aspirants, was arrested on on Tuesday from Faridabad.Sanjeev Guglani promised to provide aspirants with the question papers 24 hours ahead of the exams.Three days before the exam, which was held on Tuesday, two students approached the proctor, Jamshed Siddiqui, complaining about a call they received promising them admission to the department for Rs 35 lakh. The administration then approached the police.SSP Nitin Tiwari said, “We created a dummy student, who made a call to Guglani showing an interest in his offer to buy question papers. And then we sought assistance from other states and nabbed him from his house in Faridabad.”Guglani ran a transport business and then took to admission consultancy. He established contacts with coaching institutes and extracted details of students and would later call to lure them into his trap.”It is still unsure who the mastermind of the scam is and to what is the extent this racket has spread. We suspect that the kingpin is in Bihar,” said the SSP.
